Steven PalmesanoandRachael Shaw 41a933ff52 Add Linux desktop environment support to docs (#35770)
I'm not 100% sure if these are the supported desktop environments, but I
figured this PR would kick off the discussion.

Brought up during a call with `customer-cisneros`: [Gong
snippet](https://us-65885.app.gong.io/call?id=6065255196915724079&highlights=%5B%7B%22type%22%3A%22SHARE%22%2C%22from%22%3A654%2C%22to%22%3A1079%7D%5D)

[Here's](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Desktop_environment) the list
of desktop environments that the customer mentioned on the call to
highlight the fragmentation of the Linux world. 😆

<!-- Add the related story/sub-task/bug number, like Resolves #123, or

**Related issue:** Resolves #33922

# Details

This PR addresses issues discovered with our on-the-fly calculations of
host `last_restarted_at` date, where it would drift slightly between
refreshes. Some users are relying on this value not changing between
restarts, so this PR moves to a strategy where we persist the date and,
when host details are refreshed, compare the new calculated date to the
persisted one and ignore changes < 30 seconds.

jacobshandling 27e0de99be Reconcile incoming Windows software upgrade_codes with those in existing correlated software_titles (#36175)
<!-- Add the related story/sub-task/bug number, like Resolves #123, or
remove if NA -->
**Related issue:** Resolves #35724

This PR addresses Issue 3 in the above unreleased bug: when a new
`software` comes in, its `upgrade_code` is compared with that of any
corresponding `software_title`s, and reconciled appropriately - see code
for the various cases

## Testing

- [x] Added/updated automated tests
- [x] QA'd all new/changed functionality manually
- [x] Load tests: @AndreyKizimenko since I don't think you've load
tested the original story yet, this change will be covered by those
tests when you do

<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai
-->
## Summary by CodeRabbit

* **Bug Fixes**
* Ensured upgrade_code values on existing software titles are
consistently updated when incoming data provides non-empty values; added
logging and safe retry handling for anomalous states.

* **Tests**
* Added table-driven tests covering upgrade_code reconciliation
scenarios (empty, non-empty, conflicting, NULL) and verification of
resulting title values.

* **Refactor**
* Introduced a lightweight software title summary type and updated
internal mappings to streamline pre-insert and reconciliation
processing.

Changes file covered by merge for #35307

Changes Windows MDM enrollment and unenrollment logic to no longer send
notifications to orbit and as such, require customers to enroll through
Settings or Autopilot. When a new enrollment is detected, processes the
enrollment type(auto=autopilot, manual=settings app) as specified and
maps it to the user who performed the enrollment

This is unfortunately all done in the query processing code which is
where we currently process these enrollments. I didn't see a better way
to do it without significant rework that was unclear in scope and the
new logic is simple enough it didn't feel like the right time to do
that.

# Details

This adds the `PUT /api/fleetd/certificates/:id/status` endpoint that a
host can use to tell the server the status of a certificate
installation. The endpoint uses `node_key` in the body for
authentication, `id` in the URL to specify the certificate template and
`status` to indicate the status (`pending`, `verifying`, `verified` or
`failed`).

Jonathan Katz c274ebc63b 35493 Android software configurations API endpoints (#36096)
**Related issue:** Resolves #35493
Notes:
- Currently this adds a new function `updateAndroidAppConfigurationTx`
that uses a passed transaction to stay consistent with how
uploading/editing vpp apps treats display names and custom icons.
- In some places configuration uses `omitempty` to use `json.RawMessage`
but avoid it being set to "null" in requests/respones.

isolation](https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet/blob/main/docs/Contributing/reference/patterns-backend.md#unit-testing)
(updates to one hosts's records do not affect another)

- "reason": "Couldn't update configuration. Only
\"managedConfiguration\" and \"workProfileWidgets\" are supported as
top-level keys."
- Can add an app with a good configuration
- Can edit app and change the configuration to something valid, invalid
gives error

For unreleased bug fixes in a release candidate, one of:

test results

Magnus Jensen 8ddb92de23 Fix failing test due to merge inaccuracies (#36273)
We merged #35685, but since it was hanging for some time another PR made
it in, and that PR was not updated to use latest main so the test
failure was not caught in CI.

Gabriel Hernandez 915f5291e6 move where we are creating the mdm enrollment activity into the turn on apple lifecycle (#35685)
**Related issue:** Resolves #32009

This updates where we fire off the mdm_enrolled activity. We had it in
the Authenticate method in the mdm checking and commands struct and move
it into our lifecycle module. In the lifecycle module we place it in the
turnOnApple method which already had checks to see if we were on the
first TokenUpdate command. This means this activity should only
fire on the initial TokenUpdate command the host gets.

## New Fleet configuration settings

- [ ] Setting(s) is/are explicitly excluded from GitOps

If you didn't check the box above, follow this checklist for
GitOps-enabled settings:

documentation](https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet/blob/main/docs/Configuration/yaml-files.md#L485)
- [ ] Verified that the setting is cleared on the server if it is not
supplied in a YAML file (or that it is documented as being optional)
- [ ] Verified that any relevant UI is disabled when GitOps mode is
enabled

## fleetd/orbit/Fleet Desktop

- [ ] Verified compatibility with the latest released version of Fleet
(see [Must

- [ ] If the change applies to only one platform, confirmed that
`runtime.GOOS` is used as needed to isolate changes
- [ ] Verified that fleetd runs on macOS, Linux and Windows
- [ ] Verified auto-update works from the released version of component
to the new version (see [tools/tuf/test](../tools/tuf/test/README.md))
